Maylene and the Sons of Disaster in West Palm Beach

After surviving a near-fatal ATV crash in 2016 that shattered every bone in Dallas Taylor's face and left him brain-damaged, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster have returned to release their first song in over eleven years. For six years, Taylor focused on rehabilitation while secretly writing music for no reason other than artistic expression. With guitarist Jasin Todd and Steve Savas, drummer Jon Longley, bassist Brad Lehmann on bass and banjo, they crafted "Burn the Witches" with meticulous care. The track directly addresses Taylor's accident and the contemplation he experienced in that moment; it is not a poetic lesson about transcendence but a brutal account of suffering without losing one's life. Produced by Brad Lehmann and mixed and mastered by Sleepwave guitarist Stephen Bowman, the song reflects a band unbound by conventions, pushing against genre boundaries. Now sporting an eye patch and axe to grind, Taylor and his band are back and appear impossible to defeat.
