Formed in Santa Cruz, California, the members first met as teenagers, jamming together at local bluegrass festivals until one day they decided to form a band. The current lineup features AJ Lee on mandolin and fiddle, Jan Purat on fiddle, Scott Gates on guitar, and Sullivan Tuttle on guitar. They maintain that youthful festival energy while displaying genuine ease and confidence in their musical craft. As they prepare City of Glass for release through Signature Sounds Records on July nineteen, their debut album from the label, the music reflects a mature sound with authentic California folk sensibilities. The album balances country soul and gritty Americana with rock club-ready string band material. Lee is focused on discovering her own identity and sonic textures while collaborating closely with her musical community in California. City of Glass offers a slow-burning listen that stands out among recent releases from peers, framed through a Californian folk perspective with broad appeal. The band shows no concern for being remembered or enshrined; instead they focus on creating songs destined to be cherished long-term. While the album may age, this music will endure.
