The Hunger Games

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to replace her younger sister in a brutal televised contest where twenty-four teenagers from a ruined world fight to the death for public amusement and government control, an event called the Hunger Games that airs nationwide as entertainment while strengthening state authority. The film was directed by Gary Ross, released in 2012 with a PG-13 rating, produced by Lions Gate Films, Inc.
