Fear and Desire (1953)

Four soldiers survive a crash landing in an unnamed country's forest, six miles behind enemy lines. Led by Lieutenant Corby, they plan to reach a nearby river at night, build a raft, and float back to friendly territory. Their escape is disrupted when a young woman stumbles upon them hiding in the woods, and by the presence of an enemy general that one group member vows to kill.
