Fear and Desire (1953)

Four soldiers crash-land in a foreign forest six miles behind enemy lines. Led by Lieutenant Corby, they plan to reach a nearby river at night, build a raft, and float back home under cover of darkness. Their escape route is disrupted when a young woman stumbles upon them hiding in the woods, and by the presence of an enemy general that one soldier vows to eliminate.
