He takes familiar melodies and adds new layers; he reimagines worn lyrics with fresh emotion. When he unleashes a sudden burst of vocal skilloften when least expectedits never just for show but to convey an unexpected shade of feeling: a whisper of love, a curse of anger, a groan of pain, or a whoop of joy that feels both surprising and inevitable at the same time. Though raised in many places, today he calls Framingham, Massachusetts, home.
