Jacob Chung Quartet

Jacob Chung relocated to New York City in 2022 to study under Vincent Herring, whose support helped secure a record deal for his second album The Sage on Cellar Music Group (released 2024). The release was recognized as one of the top Canadian jazz albums of that year by Peter Hum in the Ottawa Citizen. In 2025, Jacob issued Live at Frankie's Jazz Club, recorded with the Tyler Henderson Trio. During 2024 he continued his training under Grant Stewart at the Tribeca Jazz Institute and built connections with musicians including Chris Byars, Eric Alexander, Ari Roland, and Ken Peplowskiassociations that supported his expanding work in New York City venues such as The Django, Smalls, Mezzrow, and Dizzy's Club. He also performs with ensembles led by Rodney Green, Erena Terakubo, James Sarno, and other leaders. As an emerging artist in contemporary jazz, Jacob maintains a touring schedule throughout the United States and Canada.
