About the Event
Most Amish families follow a custom called Rumspringaliterally "running around"where sixteen-year-olds experience freedom from strict religious rules before choosing whether to return and be baptized into their church. Surprisingly, nearly all youth do come back. But occasionally they don't. Four of the original six members of The Amish Outlaws were born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, under a disciplined Amish upbringing with no electricity, no alcohol, and no musical instruments, yet their spirits proved too restless for such constraints. After trampling through the Devil's Playground, there was no turning back. Over the years since Rumspringa, these musicians have fully embraced modern lifemusic, especially. With bold enthusiasm for living and a burning passion for music and performance that can only arise from sixteen years of restraint, The Amish Outlaws were finally released into the world.
