Delfeayo Marsalis & The Uptown Jazz Orchestra

A celebrated trombonist, composer, and producer, Delfeayo Marsalis has devoted his extensive career to music theatre and education. Like many of the Marsalis musical family including his father Ellis, he was destined for a life in music. He has toured globally with jazz legends such as Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, and Slide Hampton, while also leading his own ensembles. At seventeen years old, he launched his career as a producer and has since produced more than one hundred twenty recordings that earned him one Grammy award along with several nominations. In 2008, he established the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, an engaging group dedicated to preserving essential jazz traditions such as riff playing, New Orleans polyphony, and spontaneous arrangements.
