Delfeayo Marsalis & The Uptown Jazz Orchestra

As a celebrated trombonist, composer, and producer, Delfeayo Marsalis has devoted his extensive career to music theatre and education. Like many members of the Marsalis musical familyincluding his father Ellishe was destined for a life in music. He has performed internationally with jazz legends such as Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, and Slide Hampton, while also leading his own ensembles. At seventeen, he launched his career as a producer and has created more than 120 recordings that have earned one Grammy award and numerous nominations. In 2008, he established the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, an engaging group committed to preserving essential jazz traditions like riff playing, New Orleans polyphony, and improvised arrangements.
