World-class trumpeter Chris Botti returns to the Blue Note Jazz Club for his 21st consecutive December holiday residency, running four weeks from mid-December through early January. The lineup includes drummer Lee Pearson, pianist Julius Rodriguez, bassist Barry Stephenson (December 821) and Phil Norris (December 22January 4). Special guests appear throughout: vocalist John Splithoff on all dates; violinist Anastasiia Mazurok on all dates; guitarist Gilad Hekselman (December 814); saxophonist Chris Potter (December 1721 and December 2729); vocalist Fernando Varela (December 28January 3); vocalist Veronica Swift (December 814 and December 26January 4); and vocalist Sy Smith (December 1525). The Blue Note Jazz Club presents this long-running tradition, with Botti calling the venue his home every December since 2005. Past special guests have included Sting and John Mayer in 2011, while performers from across entertainmentincluding Mary J Blige and Paul Haggishave attended. Botti says, Coming to the Blue Note for as many years as Ive been is like coming home: the best city, the best club, the greatest people. A full bar and dinner menu are available; a $20 minimum applies per person. Seating is first come, first served. Bar area seating is limited and all seats are sold out once occupied, leaving only standing room. Table seating is for all ages; bar seating requires guests to be 21 or older.
