Allison Miller's Boom Tic Boom

Allison Miller is an acclaimed percussionist who has honed her craft across many musical genres. She has appeared as a guest on late-night television programs, provided rhythmic foundation for some of today's most cherished singer-songwriters, and earned recognition through a collection of highly regarded recordings with both her own ensemble Boom Tic Boom and the all-star collective ARTEMIS. Miller draws upon her foundational skills in improvisation to delve into every facet of music. Critics have labeled her as an emerging Modern Jazz Icon; she was named among Downbeat Magazine's Top 20 Jazz Drummers, and her composition Otis Was a Polar Bear appeared on NPR's list of The 200 Greatest Songs by 21st Century Women. Miller served as the 2019 Artist in Residence for Monterey Jazz Festival, sharing that honor with bassist/producer Derrick Hodge. She was also honored as the inaugural recipient of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation's Commissioning Grant.
