Allison Miller's Boom Tic Boom

Allison Miller is an acclaimed drummer who has honed her craft across numerous musical genres. She appears on late-night television programs, provides rhythmic foundation for many of today's most cherished singer-songwriters, and receives critical praise for recordings made both as leader of her own ensemble Boom Tic Boom and with the all-star collective ARTEMIS. Miller draws upon her foundational expertise in improvisation to investigate every facet of musical expression. Critics have labeled her a Modern Jazz Icon in the Making; she has been named among Top 20 Jazz Drummers by Downbeat Magazine, and her composition Otis Was a Polar Bear appears on NPR's list of The 200 Greatest Songs by 21st Century Women. Miller served as Monterey Jazz Festivals 2019 Artist in Residence alongside bassist/producer Derrick Hodge. She was also the inaugural recipient of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundations Commissioning Grant.
