About the Event

The Storyville Stompers Brass Band began as friends in 1981 who shared a deep love of traditional New Orleans music. Over time, they grew into one of Americas most respected brass ensembles, performing across the United States, Europe, South America and Asia. They continue to play the authentic New Orleans style that forms the foundation of traditional jazz. The band has long been recognized for its powerful sound and spirited performances, keeping classic jazz tunes alive in a repertoire rarely heard today. After more than forty years on stageincluding countless festivals, parades and galasthey received Best Traditional Brass Band honors from Gambit Weeklys Big Easy Music Awards in 2010 and 2011 among many other nominations. The Stompers have become an essential part of New Orleans brass band tradition. Tonight we honor the life and legacy of Wesley Schmidt (1951-2019), longtime manager, friend and founding member who was also Grand Marshall of the Storyville Stompers. Shows begin at 7:30pm and 9:30pm with doors opening at 7:00pm and 9:00pm respectively. The restaurant operates from 5pm to 10pm for dinner before or after your performance. Advance ticket holders may reserve dining room tables through the OpenTable website. They can also request a table by sending their e-ticket confirmation with a dinner note to reservations@snugjazz.com after purchasing online. Dinner service without advance concert tickets is first-come, first-served based on availability upon arrival. The full bar remains open from 5pm until midnight for all guests regardless of ticket status. Please note that the complete menu is not served inside the Music Room. Only cheese and charcuterie trays are available for table service within the intimate performance space to preserve the quiet atmosphere and focus of our concerts. We encourage arriving at least ninety minutes before your showtime to enjoy full dinner in the adjacent Dining Room, then settling into the Music Room for your ticketed performance.
