About the Event
Grammy-winning trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis established the Uptown Jazz Orchestra in 2008. The ensemble features up to eighteen accomplished musicians who set the standard for jazz celebration. Delfeayo is among the most imaginative and inventive composers and producers of his generation, known for technical excellence and frequent touches of humor. He has produced over a hundred recordings featuring artists including Harry Connick Jr., Spike Lee, Terence Blanchard, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and his father and brothers, who were designated Americas First Family of Jazz by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2000. Tonight the big band performs a special New Years Eve concert. The orchestra presents two performances at eight o'clock and ten thirty o'clock with doors opening at seven thirty and ten o'clock respectively. Dinner service is available from five until ten o'clock in the dining room before or after any showtime. Advance ticket holders may make dinner reservations online through OpenTable.com or by email to reservations@snugjazz.com following their purchase. The bar room remains open from five until midnight for all patrons, whether they hold tickets or not. Please note that the full menu is not served inside the music room. Only cheese and charcuterie trays, cocktails, and soft drinks are available for table service in the intimate concert space to preserve the quiet atmosphere of world-class performances. Patrons without advance ticket reservations should arrive at least ninety minutes before their showtime to enjoy full dinner service in the dining room located next door.
