Clarence Johnson III Quartet presents an evening of dynamic saxophone performances and remarkable musical versatility. The native New Orleanian has built a distinguished career spanning more than thirty years as a recording artist, performer, educator, and guest on film and television. His distinctive sound and virtuosic skill have made him a sought-after collaborator in the music industry. His film and TV credits include appearances with Jamie Foxx in Ray and PBS with Allen Toussaint, while his own bands are known for jazz fusion reminiscent of Stanley Clarke, Coltranesque impressionism, and Sun Ra futurism. Throughout his illustrious career, Johnson has collaborated with a diverse array of artists including jazz luminaries such as Delfeayo Marsalis, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, and Dr. John; members of the Neville Brothers, Allen Toussaint, and The Meters; and international acts like Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Gladys Knight, and Wynton Marsalis, showcasing his ability to seamlessly blend into various musical styles and settings. Tonight, Clarence presents his quartet featuring saxophonist Clarence Johnson III, drummer John Jones, pianist Darrell Lavigne, and bassist Brian Quezergue. Shows begin at 7:30pm and 9:30pm with doors opening at 7:00pm and 9:00pm respectively. The restaurant is open from 5pm to 10pm for dinner before or after the showtime. Dinner service without advance concert tickets is first-come, first-served based on availability upon arrival. Kind reminder: Snug Harbor does not serve the full menu inside the music room. They do offer cheese and charcuterie tray options. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet, and focus of their world-class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails, and soft drinks are available for table service inside the music room. However, they encourage you to arrive at least ninety minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the dining room right next door before getting seated in the music room for your ticketed showtime.
