Amina Figarova SextetAmina Figarova is an Azerbaijani-born pianist, composer, and bandleader celebrated for her sophisticated jazz compositions and expressive piano playing. Trained in classical piano at the Baku Conservatory before studying jazz at the Rotterdam Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, she has built an acclaimed career blending post-bop, contemporary jazz, and global influences. A prolific performer and recording artist, she has released numerous albumsincluding Twelve and Blue Whisperand frequently collaborates with her husband, flutist Bart Platteau, as well as renowned artists like Rudy Royston, Luques Curtis, Wayne Escoffery, and Alex Norris.
