About the Event
For nearly twenty years American Aquarium has pursued that rare kind of rock music that is revealing in every way. For us, the ideal moment arrives when you are shouting along to every lyric and it isnt until three in the morning that you understand those words are speaking truthfully about your own life, says frontman BJ Barham. That is what made us fall in love with music initially, and that remains our goal for all we create. On their latest album The Fear of Standing Still, the North Carolina band embodies this dynamic by blending their raw style of country rock with Barhams most daring and cutting-edge lyrics yet. In our live performance the group acts like a freight train that never slows down, and for this record I truly wanted to demonstrate how large and anthemic we can become, notes Barham, whose bandmates include guitarist Shane Boeker, pedal-steel guitarist Neil Jones, keyboardist Rhett Huffman, drummer Ryan Van Fleet, and bassist Alden Hedges.
