Albert Lee is an internationally celebrated British guitarist who has won a Grammy Award and been named Best Country Guitarist by Guitar Player Magazine multiple times. He is known worldwide for his exceptional fingerstyle and hybrid picking style. Throughout his career, he has performed in the studio and on stage with many prominent artists from diverse musical styles including Eric Clapton, The Everly Brothers, Bill Wyman, Emmylou Harris, Joe Cocker, Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, and others. In 2002, Lee took part in the Concert for George to honor the life and music of Beatle George Harrison. He is touring North America and England during 2024 and 2025 to promote his latest album, LAY IT DOWN, which was recorded at the historic Konk Studios in London in March 2024. This new record pays homage to some of Alberts most cherished influences and favorite performers. From Mark Knopflers energetic Setting Me Up to Jimmy Webbs soaring piano ballad Too Young To Die, as well as The Everly Brothers powerful hit The Price Of Love, LAY IT DOWN showcases his return to live studio recording as one of the most accomplished guitarists in history. He is widely regarded as a true virtuoso with extraordinary skill across all aspects of playing. Eric Clapton has called him his hero. Dave Edmunds describes him as a brilliant guitarist whose distinctive sound is unmistakable, often imitated but never matched.
