Frank Orrall serves as founder, lead vocalist, writer-producer, and core creative force behind Acous-tronic Rock Poi Dog Pondering. He also performs percussion and vocals for Thievery Corporation in Washington D.C., under production aliases including Palm Fabric Orchestra, Soft Explosion, Mourning Doves, and 8fatfat8. His touring ensemble includes Sophia De Leon Sanchez (vocals, dance, multi-instrumentalist), Paul Von Mertens (saxophone, flute, clarinet), Joe Sonnefeldt (vibraphone, marimba), plus occasional surprise guests. Born in the Pacific Ocean, raised among Hawaiis rainforests, and shaped by Chicagos urban landscape, Orralls songwriting draws from nature, stream-of-consciousness prose, and sensual imagery.
