Celebrate MLK Day with Story Jam

Story Jams annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day features storytellers and musicians from around the world to honor Dr. Kings legacy. The event highlights diverse voices alongside an exceptional live band, creating joyful, original experiences filled with music. This production brings together award-winning narrative artists and top Chicago musicians for a premier storytelling performance in the city. All proceeds support organizations serving immigrant communities and families throughout Chicago. Featured storytellers include Mama Edie Armstrong, Charlie Garrido, Nestor Gomez, Nataliya Olemchenko, Howard Lieberman, and Kory May. Story Jam was founded by Chicago singer-songwriter Stephanie Rogers in 2014 and blends authentic personal narratives with custom-composed music. The mission is to uplift humanity through individual stories and specially written songs. Each performance showcases award-winning artists and remains unique. The Story Jam Band consists of Fred Simon, Alysha Monique, Rafe Bradford, John Bowes, Karla Beard-Leroy, Stephanie Rogers, Dave Hiltebrand, Chuck Lacy, Xoe Wise, and Devin Thompson.
