Blue Monday: Donna Herula Band

Donna Herula is an acclaimed blues singer, songwriter, resonator slide guitarist, and inductee into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame, recognized for her exceptional guitar playing (Living Blues Magazine). Her latest album, Bang at the Door, earned international critical praise and reached number one on the acoustic blues Best of the Year list (RMR), while also appearing on other best-of-the-year lists from Living Blues and IBBA. She performs original compositions that honor both blues and folk traditions alongside lively renditions of Delta Blues, Hill Country Blues, and early Chicago Blues songs. Her work has won Independent Blues Awards for Best Traditional Blues Artist and Best Acoustic Blues Album; her award-winning tracks have been broadcast on the BBC and SiriusXM BB Kings Bluesvilles Top 15 Rack of Blues (most played songs). She has performed across the United States, throughout the Deep South, in Europe, and in South Africa. Her band includes Marc Edelstein (upright and electric bass), Tony Wittrock (guitar, mandolin, banjo guitar), and Grammy-winning drummer Kenny Smith. Donna is set to release a new album of original blues and folk songs in 2026.
