METAL MOVIE NIGHT: THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD AND ARMY OF DARKNESS

Metal Movie Night hosts a Dead of Winter double feature featuring The Return of the Living Dead and Army of Darkness at 7pm, followed by doors opening for DJ sets by Metal Vinyl Weekend and a feature presentation starting at 8pm. This Chicago film series created and hosted by Chris Larkin and Gregg Elzinga celebrates movies and metal culture with an intermission showcasing Metal Videos and Classic Trailers after the initial DJ set. The first film follows Freddy, who accidentally releases nerve gas from a U.S. military canister on his first day at a medical supply facility, reanimating an army of corpses that rise from their graves with hunger for human brains while partying teens nearby await to be eaten. Army of Darkness brings back Ash, the handsome shotgun-toting department store clerk from S-Marts housewares division who battles hideous Deadites after demonic forces time warp him and his 73 Oldsmobile into Englands Dark Ages where he romances a beauty and faces legions of undead beasts including a ghastly army of skeletons.
