About the Event
Hank Ruff, a recent Indiana University graduate, has been establishing his musical presence across Indiana during his college years. Following the success of his latest EP Hellbender which reached number one on iTunes' all-genre chart, he aims to expand this momentum by performing throughout the Midwest and beyond. Now free from school obligations and fully dedicated to music, Ruff envisions taking his neo-traditional country sound nationwide. Born and raised in Southern Indiana, he has been playing country music locally since age eleven. Named after Hank Williams Sr., he began learning mandolin and jamming at bluegrass sessions before adding guitar and mastering classic tracks like Hey Good Lookin' and Mama Tried. Ruff started performing with his father's band The Dew Daddies as a teenager, then began co-writing songs with him in high school. Most of his repertoire features compositions created together by the two, including If the Boot Fits. His music blends traditional country elements with modern influences, bringing back classic sounds to contemporary country audiences through steel guitar and fiddle-driven arrangements.
