Duane Powells musical passion ignited in childhood during the 1970s when he immersed himself in Chicagos vibrant soul music scene. His uncles worked as disc jockeys until the mid-80s, and his schoolmates and relatives included artists like Minnie Riperton, The Emotions, Chaka Khan, Miki Howard, and The Staple Singers.
