Richard Elliot possesses a rare talent for blending technical skill with genuine musical enthusiasm. This makes his work valuable to both casual listeners and serious jazz fans alike. Growing up surrounded by records from Joni Mitchell, Dave Brubeck, and the Temptations through his older sister's collection, saxophonist Richard Elliot began working with three legendary Motown artists as a teenager. His early career included positions with Natalie Cole and the Pointer Sisters. He also spent five years playing with Tower of Power's horn section. From this wide range of influences, Elliot has developed his own distinct style, releasing over twenty Top Ten Smooth Jazz singles and multiple Contemporary Jazz albums that reached number one. His 2024 album Straight Up Down highlights his signature soulful and bluesy approach, which merges technical ability with raw passion across Jazz, Blues, Pop, R&B, and Rock. He has collaborated on numerous projects with prominent artists including Dave Koz, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair, Rick Braun, Jeff Lorber, and many others. Elliot is known for performing more than one hundred shows annually. All General Admission sections (Main Floor GA and Miles Davis Mezzanine) will be seated by host on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise indicated with a reserved sign at the table. Guests requiring special seating should contact the venue no later than 48 hours before the show date. Please note: If you do not purchase all seats for your table, other customers may join you. For dinner and show packages, dining occurs two hours before showtime in the Boathouse 400 restaurant on the second floor of the hotel. These packages include buffet selections, a complimentary glass of house red or white wine or non-alcoholic beverage, all state and local taxes, an 18% gratuity, and complimentary parking in the hotel garage while you enjoy dinner and the show. All purchases are non-refundable.
