This trio features Tom Vaitsas on B3 organ and Peter Mack on drums, both seasoned Chicago musicians. Brian Citro has composed and performed guitar music for three decades, including work with JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound, Ted Sirotas Heavyweight Dub!, and other ensembles. His latest album Acoustic Pastime showcases solo arrangements of his own pieces and Thelonious Monk compositions. Vaitsas, a former sideman to Von Freeman, has toured globally with Lurie, Carrie Bell, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Fareed Haque. Mack brings extensive experience from leading the Chicago Jamaican Jazz Ensemble. The set includes original works by Citro alongside music by Pat Metheny, Carol King, Frank Ocean, and others.
