About the Event
Chicago singer-songwriter Naomi Ashley brings her cream and Kahlua voice to life on stage, weaving Americana, classic country, folk, blues, and rock into lyrically layered songs that blend humor with deep insight into human experience. Her extensive discography includes six albums and three singles; the title track of Trying to Fly appeared in the Showtime series Work in Progress. A four-time grant recipient from the City of Chicago and Illinois Arts Council, she has earned acclaim for works like Another Year or So, Trying to Fly, and other projects. Her latest album, Love Bug, released February 2024, was supported by a grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). Originally from Northwest Iowa, Ashley began her songwriting journey early but found true direction after performing at FitzGeralds in Chicagos famed music scene. There she developed a distinct style that resonates deeply with audiences. Now over twenty years into her career as a beloved and sought-after performer in the city, she invites listeners to join her for an evening of heartfelt storytelling and live performance. Please dine beforehand at Babygold Barbecue. Limited street parking is available; we recommend arriving by rideshare, bicycle, or rickshaw.
