FITZGERALDS SIDEBAR presents Henry Carpender Quintetfree show! Reservations available! Henry Carpender is trombonist, composer, and educator based in Chicago. His playing and writing blend punchy, sensitive, quirky elements with deep love for life and self-expression. He began performing at age 13 with Expo 76. Through education and freelance work, he has shared stage with Dag Juhlin, Billy Harper, Robbie Fulks, Tanya Darby, Cathy Richardson, NRBQ and the Canadian Brass. He also teaches private lessons and runs a studio for middle and high school students in Chicagoland area. When not playing or teaching, he plays video games, cooks new dishes, or relaxes on Montrose beach. This show will premiere new work, revisit favorites, and share arrangements of his favorite artists. Rufus Parenti on tenor saxophone, Jesse Lear on upright bass, Tommy Sagins on drums and cymbals.
