Downtown Austin offers complimentary street parking on Sundays and after 6pm on Mondays. Trinity Garage provides free access throughout Sunday, while charging $3 per half-hour with a maximum daily fee of $24. Flat rates apply at $10 between Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, and $12 from Friday to Sunday morning. During special downtown events, available spots may be limited and more expensive. If attendants follow their posted schedule, the elevator typically shuts down around 10pm nightly and remains off most Saturdays; patrons with mobility needs should park near the fountain plaza rather than under the awning. The surface lot at the southwest corner of 9th and Trinity charges $8 for up to one hour, $15 for one to ten hours, or $25 for overnight stays from 5pm until 10am. Parking during special events may be more limited and costly. Meters operate between Cesar Chavez and 10th Street along with IH-35 and Lamar Boulevard; Monday through Tuesday they charge $1 per hour with varying maximum stay times by area, while other hours are free. Cards or coins can be used to pay the meters.
