Surface parking in downtown Austin is free on Sundays and Monday evenings after 6pm. The Trinity Garage offers complimentary access throughout Sunday. Daily rates are $3 per half-hour, capped at $24 daily. A flat $10 charge applies from Sunday through Thursday between 4pm and 6am; a flat $12 rate covers Fridays through Saturdays from 6am on Friday until 8am on Sunday. Parking availability may be limited during special downtown events and rates can increase accordingly. If parking attendants follow their regular schedule, the elevator closes around 10pm each night and remains inaccessible all day Saturday. Patrons with mobility needs should park in the plaza area near the fountains rather than under the awning. The surface lot at the southwest corner of 9th Street and Trinity Boulevard charges $8 for up to one hour, $15 for one to ten hours, or $25 for overnight stays from 5pm until 10am. Availability may be limited during special downtown events with potentially higher costs. During listed times, metered parking is $1 per hour with varying maximum stay lengths by area; meters accept credit cards and coins. Meters are free outside the listed hours. The area covered extends between Cesar Chavez Street and 10th Street, and from IH-35 to Lamar Boulevard. Monday through Tuesday coverage runs from 8am until 6pm.
