Surface parking in downtown Austin is free on Sundays and after 6pm on Mondays. Trinity Garage offers complimentary access throughout Sunday. The daily fee is $3 per half-hour, capped at $24 for the day. A flat rate of $10 applies from Sunday through Thursday between 4pm and 6am; a flat rate of $12 covers Fridays and Saturdays from 6am until 8am on Sundays. Parking availability may be limited and rates higher during downtown special events. If parking attendants follow their established schedule, the elevator in Trinity Garage is turned off around 10pm each night and remains off all day most Saturdays. Patrons with mobility limitations should park on the plaza near the fountains rather than under the awning. The surface lot located at the southwest corner of 9th and Trinity charges $8 for up to one hour, $15 for one to ten hours, and $25 for overnight parking from 5pm until 10am. Availability may be limited and rates higher during downtown special events. Meters are in effect between Cesar Chavez and 10th Street and between IH-35 and Lamar Boulevard. Monday through Tuesday, meters charge $1 per hour with varying maximum stay times by area; all other hours are free. Meters accept MasterCard, Visa, debit cards, or coins.
