Downtown Austin street parking costs nothing on Sundays and after six in the evening on Mondays. The Trinity Garage offers free access throughout Sunday. Regular hourly rates are three dollars per half hour, capped at twenty-four dollars for the day. A flat fee of ten dollars applies from Thursday evenings until Saturday mornings. On Fridays through Saturdays, a single charge of twelve dollars covers the entire stay. Availability during city-wide celebrations may be limited and pricing can increase. If attendants follow their posted timetable, the elevator shuts down around ten at night on weekdays and remains closed all day most Saturdays. Visitors with mobility challenges should park in the plaza area near the fountains rather than under the awning. The surface lot located at the southeast corner of Ninth Street and Trinity Road charges eight dollars for up to an hour, fifteen dollars between one and ten hours, and twenty-five dollars overnight from five in the afternoon until ten in the morning. Availability during downtown special events may be scarcer and costlier. During specified times, metered parking costs one dollar per hour with varying maximum stay limits by area. Meters accept major credit cards or coins. Metered hours apply to the stretch between Cesar Chavez Street and Tenth Street, and from IH-35 to Lamar Boulevard on Monday through Tuesday from eight in the morning until six at night. All other times are free.
