Music TORONTO: Gryphon Trio & Nordic Voices

The acclaimed Gryphon Trio joins forces with Nordic Voices for an evening of musical discovery, showcasing new compositions by contemporary composers from Canada and around the globe. While audiences may remember the film segments from Nordic Voices during Echoes: Memories of the World in March 2023, this performance offers the complete experience. This is a rare opportunity to hear four brand-new works commissioned specifically for the Gryphon Trio. These pieces come from some of today's most emotionally compelling and powerful composers, including Andrew Balfour (Cree), Norbert Palej (Polish/Canadian), Bohdana Frolyak (Ukrainian), and Vancouver-based Jeffrey Ryan, whose new commission features a text by Toronto poet Michael Redhill.
