Learning Japanese through J-pop

A welcoming, culturally rooted introduction to language learning at the beginning of the academic year. This enrichment session blends Japanese popular music, gentle movement, voice awareness exercises, and creative reflection to build confidence, fluency, and readiness for communication. Activities include listening sessions using J-pop songs alongside light practices like (Japanese radio calisthenics) and simple vocal warm-ups designed to help participants relax their bodies, prepare their voices, and feel more comfortable expressing themselves in a new language. Please note: the class is taught in English, but many songs will be sung in Japanese and some conversations will follow in that language as well. Basic understanding of Japanese is required.
