JazzInToronto Presents: Singing Through the Darkness

Toronto's Aviva Chernick, Judith Lander, Lenka Lichtenberg, and Theresa Tova unite with musical director Fern Lindzon to celebrate music from the Holocaust era alongside original compositions born from that dark chapter of human history. With JazzInToronto's Ori Dagan hosting, the evening blends historical narrative with powerful performances, showing how artists can find refuge and resistance through creativity in troubled times. This intimate, moving concert illuminates voices that endured oppression while honoring Jewish cultural expression's lasting strength. The show was commissioned for "Auschwitz: Not Long Ago. Not Far Away" at the ROM, where three sold-out evenings preceded this live performance.
