About the Event

Shod is the ancient Japanese art of brush calligraphy, where mindful motion, smooth ink flow, and deliberate strokes turn written characters into living expression. Beyond technique, it is a meditative discipline cultivating focus, serenity, and presence. Led by Manaha, an accomplished practitioner, this session teaches essential brush control, stroke sequencing, and foundational principles. Open to beginners, returning students, and children alike, the workshop provides a gentle space to slow down, align with your breath, and discover the clarity and beauty of Shod within a supportive atmosphere. February Theme: Traditional Calligraphy Write Your Name in Kanji. Requirement: Basic Japanese understanding is necessary. Note: All materials are supplied for use during the class only. For children's workshops, parents or guardians must pay separate fees for participants aged 1317. All correspondence about child-related matters will be handled with the parent or guardian. A required Child Information Form must be completed. No exchanges or refunds apply.
