About the Event

Shod, Japan's traditional art of brush calligraphy, merges mindful motion, fluid ink, and deliberate strokes to turn written characters into expressive works. Beyond a writing method, Shod is a meditative practice fostering focus, tranquility, and presence. Led by Manaha, an experienced practitioner, this session teaches brush handling, stroke order, and more. Suitable for beginners, returning students, and children, it provides a welcoming space to slow down, connect with breath, and experience the beauty and clarity of Shod in a relaxed, supportive environment. January Theme: New Years resolutions (Kakizome). Requirement: Basic Japanese comprehension is required. Note: All supplies are provided for use during the workshop only. For Children's workshops, Parent/Guardian must purchase class fees for children aged 13-17. All communication regarding the child will be conducted with the Parent/Guardian. Required Child Information Form applies. No exchange or refund.
