About the Event
Joan Smith and her band deliver an alt-rock sound rooted in Toronto's underground scene. Their 2023 debut album Do Me Some Harm, produced by guitarist Tom Juhas and mixed by Alain Johannes (known for work with Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures), features a raw, powerful style that critics have praised for its authenticity. The group is led by Joan Smith, who brings towering vocals and a distinctive guitar tone to relentless riffs and sharp singing that some compare to Queens of the Stone Age and Stevie Nicks. Their single Pull was featured in the premiere of ABCs Rebel, leading to international music licensing opportunities, while their cover of the Pointer Sisters Neutron Dance appeared on Cartridge Hearts Go Kick-Ass:2 compilation. The band has received national radio airplay, international playlisting, and three U.S. tours since 2023, building global momentum. They toured the UK in September 2025, including a support slot at Sonic Boom Festival alongside The Bug Club and Seb Lowe.
