About the Event
Neon Steve brings his signature sound alongside DJ Soup, Joluca, and ArmonaWinterruption at YEG 2026. Doors open at ten p.m., with the show beginning promptly after. The event is titled Double Dragon and will occur on Friday, January 23, 2026. For additional details, please check www.winterruptionyeg.com. Winterruption YEG is held on Treaty Six land, which is the traditional territory of the nehiyaw, Dene, Stoney Nakoda, Nakota Sioux, and Annishnabe peoples. We also recognize that this space is home to Metis and Inuit communities. The volunteers, producers, patrons, and performers humbly acknowledge they are still learning what it means to exist on Treaty territory and unceded land. They understand the land itself is an act of reconciliation and gratitude toward those whose territories we inhabit or visit. They know there remains vital work to be done to honor treaties and Indigenous histories, languages, and cultures that shape our music community, and they are thankful to be guests here. The initial lineup has been announced! Highlights include legendary LA punk band FEAR, who will make their Edmonton debut after nearly four decades in the city, Brooklyn-based hip-hop artist Talib Kweli, Funk powerhouse Thumpasaurus, indie-rap sensation Open Mike Eagle, Berlin multimedia artist Discovery Zone, Montreals Annie-Claude Deschnes of Duchess Says, Polaris Prize-shortlisted The OBGMS, Vancouvers buzz punks PISS, RuPaul drag star Miz Cracker, Portlands psych-rockers The Shivas, Bay Area indie-rockers Sour Widows, multi-disciplinary artist Vivek Shraya, London/Edmonton electro-pop musician Sean Nicholas Savage, Montreals Jane Inc., and many others. More artists will be revealed over the next weeks with early bird wristbands going on sale Friday October 3 at ten a.m. MST for just ninety-nine dollars.
