About the Event
The stage production of Kenneth Grahames classic tale unfolds on an open grassy area where attendees should bring their own seating such as blankets. Doors unlock one hour before the show begins. Ratty, Mole, Badger, Otter, Portly and Mr Toad guide the audience through this beloved riverbank story in a critically praised outdoor performance filled with music, songs and humour. Children and adults alike enjoy the Head Chief Rabbits interactive magic that turns spectators into rabbits by wiggling ears and noses, while young participants are invited to join the action, shout out loud, sing along and take part in the adventure. Laughs and surprises await both kids and grown-ups as this is the finest example of participatory theatre. After more than 35 years at Melbournes Royal Botanic Gardens and 20 years in Sydneys Royal Botanic Garden, The Wind in the Willows remains Australias most cherished affordable family entertainment experience.
