About the Event
A limited number of State Theatre Venue Tours may be cancelled on rare occasions, with rebooking efforts made to another date while providing maximum possible advance notice. Each ticket price includes a $1 restoration levy. Guests can experience the grandeur of standing in a 2000-seat auditorium framed by thirteen hand-cut crystal chandeliers. The eclectic Gothic, Italian and Art deco design elements are on display for observation. The State's famous Character Lounges include the exotic Butterfly Room, the Pioneer Room, and the College Room. Visitors can be mesmerised by the world's second largest hand-cut crystal chandelier, the Koh-i-Nor. The original mighty Wurlitzer Organ, the voice of silent movies, is on view. Prize-winning artworks by famous Australian artists including William Dobell, Mary Edwards, Charles Wheeler and Raymond Lindsay are admired. Guests can delve into the depths of the Theatre to discover engineering marvels and mechanical masterpieces.
