About the Event
A two-hour-and-twenty-minute theatrical experience under the night sky featuring the Australian Shakespeare Company's celebrated comedy Twelfth Night. The production introduces Sir Toby Belch, credited as the originator of festive gatherings; Sir Andrew Aguecheek, portrayed as both foolish and inept; Malvolio, a self-righteous man who descends from high moral ground when manipulated by Sir Toby; and Maria, the maid who cleverly tricks Malvolio and trains Sir Toby in domestic matters. Viola, a shipwrecked young woman who assumes male identity to secure employment, Olivia, the sorrowful noblewoman who turns down one suitor before embracing another under false pretenses, and Orsino, the Duke consumed by affection whose devotion shifts when reality and deception intersect.
