About the Event
A two-hour-and-twenty-minute theatrical experience under the Australian night sky featuring Sir Toby Belch, the inventor of partying; Sir Andrew Aguecheek, an unintelligent and naturally foolish character; Malvolio, a power-hungry puritan who falls from great moral heights when pushed by Sir Toby; and Maria, the housemaid who outwits Malvolio and trains Sir Toby. The production also includes Viola, a shipwrecked girl who cross-dresses as a boy to find work, Olivia, a grieving noblewoman who rejects one suitor only to fall for another in disguise, and Orsino, the lovesick Duke whose heart changes course when truth and identity collide. This Australian Shakespeare Company production continues its celebrated tradition of Shakespeare Under the Starsa night filled with laughter, love, and lyrical chaos suitable for audiences of all ages.
